Moonbirds is a Profile Picture (PFP) 10k NFT project by PROOF Collective on the Ethereum blockchain. PROOF is led by Kevin Rose and launched in late 2021 with a PROOF Pass (1k passes). The idea behind PROOF was to unite an intimate and sophisticated group of NFT investors and grow together as the space evolved. Moonbirds launched in April via raffle and blew away expectations. It rocketed from 2.5 ETH at mint to over 40 ETH within a week on incredible volume. Many speculated that this was new Web2 VC money flowing in to back a proven Web2 team that would bring the best of Web2 to Web3 and execute flawlessly. Moonbirds, like most 10k collections, is not about the art, but about utility, community, ethos, brand, and owning a piece of an ambitious startup in Web3.
