Sei is a Layer 1 parallel blockchain that launched in 2023. It utilizes parallel execution to give users a web2-like experience with all the benefits of web3 decentralization. Decentralized Apps (dApps) built on Ethereum, Layer 2 chains, and other EVM compatible dApps can be deployed on Sei for cheaper transactions and faster execution while settling on the base chain and maintaining the security and decentralization aspects of their respective Layer 1 chains. Ethereum Layer 2 chains exist to scale Ethereum by making fees cheaper and transactions faster. Sei makes transactions even cheaper and even faster without relying on performance improvements of the base layer. Think of it as another Layer on Ethereum that improves the user interface, potential dApps and use cases, and appeal of Ethereum smart contracts to replace Web2 apps and systems. SEI is the underlying token of Sei that is akin to ETH for Ethereum. SEI is used for fees, governance, and staking. There are ~2.8B SEI in circulation and ~10B total supply. SEI’s market cap is ~1/250th of Ethereum and 1/50th of Solana and price is down ~40% from all time highs in March 2024. Sei could play a very big role in helping Ethereum scale and compete with Solana for consumer dApps and users.

It's like a magic playground where more and more friends come to play because it's fun and everyone gets along well!
